ム展

１２月７日（金）〜９日（日）の三日間、
学科の友人と６人で共同個展『ム展』を行いました。
会場に来て下さったみなさん、ありがとうございました！！！
差し入れとかも本当にありがとうございます！！
まあ〜、スイーツにおにぎりに、展示中も結構忙しかったので大変助かりました。
おかげ様で太りました！！笑
From Dec. 7th (Fri) to 9th (Sun) 2007, 5 of my friends and I held an art exhibition titled "Mu-ten". I'd like to say thank you to all the visitors came to see our works, and to some of them brought tons of sweets, food and drink for us. Thank you so much for real! During the open days, it was pretty busy to go out from the place to eat, so your nice gifts were very helpful for all of us! But the gifts gave me a little extra weight, even so I'm very thankful!!lol

今回の私の似顔絵のテーマは「友だち」です。
課題として毎週描いている友達の似顔絵を主に展示しました。
今まで芸能人を中心に似顔絵を描いてきたのですが、
最近はそういった遠い世界の人でなく、
身近な人たちの魅力を観察して表現することに挑戦中です。
This time, the theme of my caricature works was "Friends". I often have been drawing famous people like celebrities who living in another world, but this time I'm observing and trying to express the attraction of people near around me who are my friends.


絵を描こうと思って観察すると、
やっぱり人間って美しい、可愛らしいなって思えて
最近脳内がキラキラしてます。笑　
Observation for drawings reminds me of an oblivious fact that human is indeed beautiful. I feel my minds often get purified through the thoughts.　 Sounds like I'm a pure person, doesn’t it? Quite true desu, I would insist.lol

裏テーマは「エキゾチズム」。
毎週課題として日本人の学生と留学生を描いていました。
アジア顔と欧米顔を交互に描くと
なかなか面白い発見もあったりで勉強になってます。
やはり単純に、違う人種の人の顔って好奇心をくすぐられますね。
特に日本のド田舎で育ったので外国の人と触れ合う機会も少なかったし、
昔からアメリカの映画や音楽に憧れてたから
人一倍興味も強いんだと思います。
英語勉強してる理由もそこが一番デカイと。
The sub-theme is "Exoticism"... from my Japanese eyes. Small eyes.lol
Recent couple of weeks, I have drawn caricatures of my Japanese friends and American friends from school. Through alternate drawing western faces and asian faces, I discover interesting facial features of each one every time. I don't want to sound too race conscious but simply, faces of people from the other countries are interesting.
I grew up in countryside of Japan, in where you can hardly meet foreigners, however American movies and pop music from the television have grabbed my heart strongly. So the less opportunities to meet the interesting people in my childhood made me more curious about them, inversely have led me to this my enthusiasm to caricature and English more and more.

しかし、ただ外見の魅力を表現するのではなく、
人間性やその人物の持つ温もりを描写するよう心がけました。
ということで友だちっていうのがポイント！
I meant to express the personality of each model, the warmth of the person, try not to express just only their appearances. So the point that we are friends is important!


そして今回は各メンバーの作風をフィーチャーした似顔絵を作成しました。
展示会２日目である土曜日に突如この企画を思いつき、
会場でメンバーの顔を改めて観察、作品を鑑賞。
帰って夜７時から清書を開始。３時に力つきて寝ました。
４人を家で仕上げ 、日曜に会場でもう一人描いてできあがり。
And this time, I drew caricatures of collaborating members, which featured the styles of their art works. I came up with the idea of this series on the second day of the three-days-exhibition. So at that day I observed members carefully, and appreciated their works. I spent one night to draw 4 of them, and finished the last person’s picture on the last day in the exhibiting hall.

気心知れた仲間であるのと、お互い表現者同士であるということで
遠慮せずにデフォルメできたのが非常に楽しかったです。
メンバーの作品からかなりインスパイアされたし、 エネルギーを貰ったし、
単純に「カッケー！マネしてみよう」と思って
似顔絵というジャンルを利用して真っ向からパクってやりました！笑
たのしかったです〜
Due to frankness as friends and their good understanding to my interests, I didn’t have to hesitate at all to draw them with stronger deforme. I’ve got inspired a lot from their art works. They gave me much energy. Their works were cool so I just wanted to “steal” somehow.lol I think I abused specialty of caricature. Sneaky me.




また、会場に遊びに来てくれたお客さんにモデルをしてもらい、
初めてカラーの早描きをたてつづけにさせて貰いました。
I drew visitors too! I haven’t done quick colored drawing so much, so it was quite challenging.

また、初めて初対面の男性モデルを描く機会もあり、
女の子の方がやっぱり描いてて気を使うから、
かなり楽しく描けました。喜んでもらえたし、よかった！
I had a chance to draw male models. (for me, it’s rare because my school has 85% of students female.) All the same, you have to be careful not to be too rude when you draw girls, so I enjoyed drawing guys.
